A Hobo Reunion

Many people--from all different walks of life--enjoy the banks of the Big Sioux River. Hobo royalty Minneapolis Jewel and Darrel "Tuck" Ray are two people whose lives intersected with the river in a quite unconventional way. In 1975, Tuck left home and hitchhiked to Texas; he fell in love with train hopping. In 1990, he spent some time in Sioux Falls. During the nights, he stayed at a local mission. During the day, he camped out near the Big Sioux River! If just for a moment, through imaginative eyes, the Big Sioux River can be home.To read more about Tuck and Minneapolis Jewel's adventures, read Stu Whitney's article "Hobo Reunion Keeps Tradition Alive."
