Big Sioux Brew: A Remedy Collaboration
Since 2020, FBSR has partnered with Remedy Brewing Company to create the Big Sioux Brew in honor of Earth Day. Brewed with purified Big Sioux River surface water, this beer is a small-scale, visual reminder of the amount of time and effort that go into making river water safe for human consumption. Our team spent two days collecting 2,000 gallons of surface water for the Big Sioux Brew. The water was purified using a reverse osmosis machine and pumped directly into the water collection tank at Remedy to brew this unique beer.
By restoring our local watershed, we can cut down on the amount of time and money spent on cleaning water from the Big Sioux River or the Missouri River, both of which supply Sioux Falls and surrounding communities with drinking water. Explore our website to learn more about water quality monitoring and what you can do to improve our watershed in urban and rural areas!
