Join us for a night of film, conversation, and hope for the future of our beloved Big Sioux River. The Big Sioux Film Festival is a space for those who want to see a change in the water quality of the river right here in our backyard. We will dive into three short films and hear from members of the FBSR board about the work FBSR is doing to improve the cleanliness of the Big Sioux.

Big Sioux River Community Clean-Up Event with Sioux Empire Paddlers
Join Sioux Empire Paddlers and Friends of the Big Sioux River for another community river clean-up event! We'll start at Tomar Park and travel to Spencer Park near the Cliff Avenue bridge, picking up trash along the way.
Sioux Empire Paddlers will provide canoes to collect the trash. The majority of the time will be spent walking in the river picking up litter, so please wear clothing and shoes you do not mind getting wet and/or dirty.
Friends of the Big Sioux River will provide garbage bags and gloves. Following the clean-up, we will provide a free picnic lunch for all participants. Please RSVP for this event so we can have an accurate count for lunch. We can't wait to see you there!
10th Annual Downtown Riverfest
Celebrate the Big Sioux River in style at the 10th Annual Downtown Riverfest! Party on the Big Sioux River with live music, kids activities, food trucks, cold drinks, retail vendors, canoe rides, live art, and more.
Kids programming runs from 4:30-7pm and includes:

Watertown River Clean-Up
Join us for our rescheduled Earth Day River Clean-Up event in Watertown on June 10th from 10:00 AM to noon at Lions Park! Together, we will work to clean up the riverbank to work toward a cleaner river for us all.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Please arrive 15 minutes early to fill out a waiver and check-in. From there, we will give instructions and start picking up litter! We will provide garbage bags, disposable gloves, and bug spray. You should consider bringing sunscreen, gloves of your own if you'd like, and your own grabber (if you don't want to bend down to pick up the litter). If you have any questions, please contact us. Gear & Beer
Join the Great Outdoor Store on the lawn for great gear, great beer from Fernson Brewing Co, the 3rd annual Camp Iron Chef, fun activities for you and your kids, and kick off the summer season. FBSR will have a booth at this fun event!
All of proceeds from event will go towards the Camp Leif Ericson Gear Closet to purchase equipment for their youth camp adventures throughout the summer.
